We want to invite you to be part of a research project. Please read the following information carefully before you decide to take part. This page will tell you why the research is being done and what you will be asked to do if you participate.

Purpose of the study

This study evaluates how well computed "surprisal profiles" match human perception. This test is part of a research project that aims to generate music using different "surprisal profiles" as targets.

Experiment description

You will listen to piano music and identify the "surprisal profile" that best matches your perception of surprise. For example, a straight ascending line should correspond to music that becomes more surprising throughout the respective section. Please ensure that you are using appropriate loudspeakers or headphones.
